Dylan and Cole Sprouse cheer for their friends at Mostly Ghostly DVD launch

Mostly Ghostly’s Sterling Beauman is Versatile Teen
Dylan and Cole Sprouse cheer for their friends at Mostly Ghostly DVD launch event at Universal CityWalk, and Sterling Beauman sings.

Everybody loves a good ghost story, and for the launch of Mostly Ghostly, a lot of Hollywood kids showed up at Universal CityWalk to support the DVD release of the film from the ultra-popular R.L. Stine books which put the spotlight on spooky spirits. It’s based on the first book of the Mostly Ghostly book series, Who let the Ghosts Out?

Dylan and Cole Sprouse (The Suite Life of Zack and Cody) thrilled the crowd of youngsters on hand, and talked about how much they love the scary books that Stine writes, especially those in the Goosebumps series. The fun-loving twin brothers also were there to cheer for the director of Mostly Ghostly Richard Correll, who has been at the helm of Zack and Cody and Suite Life on Deck series starring the Sprouse boys.

Sterling Beaumont (Lost), Madison Pettis (Cory in the House), Noah Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Brian Stepanek (Suite Life) and David Deluise (Wizards of Waverly Place), the stars from Mostly Ghostly were there and got big cheers when they were introduced and talked to the crowd about making the movie. After film clips were played on the Universal CityWalk’s Jumbo-Tron Screen, there was a performance by Sterling Beaumont, which turned out to be a tremendous pre-Halloween treat for all who attended.

On the CityWalk stage, Sterling sang the title song from Mostly Ghostly, and it was a highlight of the event along with the entire cast meeting and greeting their fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Afterwards, I got to chat with Sterling and learn more about the multi-talented up-and-coming young star.

This has been a big year for Sterling, with projects on the big and small screens. In addition to his starring role as Max Doyle who is scared for his life in Universal Home Video’s Mostly Ghostly, he guest stars on an episode of NBC’s ER as a boy fighting for his life. He’s also a patient on an episode of Fox TV’s Bones.

In a healthier, but more menacing role, Sterling is perhaps most recognized for his role as “Young Ben Linus” on ABC’s Lost. And last season he played an “evolved human” on NBC’s Heroes.

The 13-year-old cutie, who has been getting a lot of attention from teen fan magazines, will also be heard on the big screen in the upcoming Astro Boy starring Nicholas Cage. It’s based on the Japanese franchise hit about a scientist who creates a robot in the image of his lost son. Sterling does the voice of “Sludge/Sam.”

He’s also been taking bows on stage, co-starring in the West Coast Ensemble adaptation of the Sondheim musical Assassins. All the while Sterling proudly notes that he maintains solid grades in junior high. Versatile and smart, talented and nice. He’s a “Sterling” example of a great teen idol.
